In 1999 Emily Trespas joined the Phillips Academy faculty in Andover, Massachusetts, as a full-time Instructor of Art. She teaches introductory- and advanced-level courses in painting and drawing, printmaking, and visual studies. In addition to studio classroom teaching, she's served as a resident house counselor for 17 years and coached Outdoor Pursuits for 10.
After earning a bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College, Trespas worked in commercial galleries, university administration, and art museums including Harvard's Fogg Art Museum and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Following her master of fine arts degree in printmaking at Cornell University (College of Architecture, Art and Planning), she moved to Rome, Italy and taught painting and drawing for Cornell's Rome Program.
